Under the guidance of former India cricketer Amay Khurasiya at the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association’s residential academy, Ashutosh honed his skills and showcased his talent in age-group cricket, laying the foundation for his ascent to the professional arena. He made his T20 debut for Madhya Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2017-18. However, even after a string of good displays, he couldn't manage a place in the team. But despite initial setbacks, he persevered, driven by an unyielding determination to succeed.

A pivotal moment in Ashutosh's career came with his move to Railways, a decision that would alter the course of his cricketing journey. It was here that he unleashed his full potential, capturing the attention of the cricketing world with his explosive batting displays in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

In a breathtaking innings against Arunachal Pradesh, Ashutosh blazed his way to a sensational 11-ball 50, eclipsing the legendary Yuvraj Singh's record. His ferocious stroke play continued to dazzle, as he delivered blistering performances against formidable opponents like Saurashtra 45 (14) and Andhra Pradesh 43 (14).

However, it was his monumental feat of scoring 200 runs in just 60 deliveries in an inter-railway encounter that truly showcased his unparalleled talent and prowess as a power-hitter. His remarkable achievements did not go unnoticed, as he was swiftly snapped up by the Punjab side for the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League.
