Commentary
Arshdeep Singh's exceptional bowling performance set the tone for India's dominant victory over the USA in their T20 World Cup clash in New York.
Bowling the first over of the match, Arshdeep struck immediately, dismissing Shayan Jahangir for a duck. His spell was unrelenting, and he continued to dismantle the USA batting lineup, finishing with astonishing figures of 4/9 in his four overs.
This performance broke the previous record held by Ravichandran Ashwin for the best bowling figures by an Indian in T20 World Cup history.
USA Struggles to Build Partnerships
The USA batters found it difficult to establish any significant partnerships against India's disciplined bowling attack. Nitish Kumar top-scored with 27 runs, but his efforts were in vain as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya provided excellent support to Arshdeep, each taking key wickets to stifle the USA's scoring. Despite a few brief moments of resistance, the USA could only muster a total of 110/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
India's Steady Chase
Chasing a modest target of 111, India faced an early scare when Saurabh Netravalkar dismissed Virat Kohli for just 1 run. The USA bowlers showed resilience, with Netravalkar also claiming the wicket of Rohit Sharma and Ali Khan dismissing Rishabh Pant.
However, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube stabilized the innings with a crucial partnership. Suryakumar played a composed innings, scoring 43 not out, while Dube contributed a quickfire 27. Their efforts ensured that India reached the target comfortably with 10 balls to spare, securing a 7-wicket victory.
India's win not only secured their place in the Super Eight stage but also maintained their unbeaten streak in the tournament. The USA, on the other hand, must win their final league game to keep their hopes alive.

Suryakumar Yadav held the innings together at one end and took India to the winning line with his half-century, well supported by Shivam Dube who finished 31 not out. United States bowlers fought well to defend the total, but in the end, this target was not enough. Arshdeep Singh was awarded Player of the Match for the best spell in his career.
