Commentary
Team India defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets in the second ODI at Eden Gardens and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Stamping its authority over Sri Lanka in the limited-overs series, Team India registered its 15th series win.
KL Rahul scored a gritty unbeaten 64 on a sporty Kolkata surface and helped his team register a hard-fought win.
As India's top-four were dismissed early inside 15 overs, the onus lied on Rahul and Hardik Pandya to rescue their team from a tricky situation.
The duo shared a valuable stand of 75 runs for the fifth wicket. Pandya was dismissed for 36 and left Rahul in the lurch.
While Axar Patel played a good cameo of 21 runs before getting dismissed but Rahul took his team home.
Earlier in the day, comeback man Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts and helped his team restrict SL to a below-par 215 in 39.5 overs.
The Chinaman - who was included in the side as a replacement for his wrist-spin twin Yuzvendra Chahal - made an immediate impact and struck in the very first over.
Sri Lankan top and middle-order batters were caught in his spin web and deceived with his flight. Kuldeep would be pretty happy with his effort of 3/51 from his 10 overs.
In-form Mohammed Siraj (3/30) once again delivered as he provided an early breakthrough and later wrapped up the tail.
