Commentary
In what could be termed as an anti-climax to an interesting series between India and South Africa, the fifth and final T20I was abandoned due to constant rain at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The series between the two teams which was evenly poised at 2-all has been shared and Team India's dream to win a limited-overs series against the Proteas at home was dashed.
The game witnessed two rain interruptions, the first just before the start of play and the second after 2.3 overs after it began.
The hosts lost two wickets in 2.3 overs as their openers Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad were dismissed by Lungi Ngidi but soon after the skies opened up.
There were plenty of positives for Team India from the series as they came from behind to level it 2-2. Senior pros Dinesh Karthik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Hardik Pandya did well throughout the series and will take this confidence to the short tour of Ireland later this month.
