Commentary
Persistent rain played spoilsport in the clash between England and Scotland, forcing the abandonment of the match. Despite Scotland's decision to bat first and a promising start from Munsey and Jones, interruptions due to rain led to delays and revisions in England's target.
Shared Points Amid Disappointment
With the match washed out, both teams shared a point each, leaving fans disappointed at the missed opportunity for an exciting contest. For England, the abandoned match meant a missed chance to start their campaign on winning note of defending their title.
The match saw 10 overs worth of action after Scotland decided to bat following a delayed toss. George Munsey and Michael Jones took Scots past 50 in the powerplay before the rain interruption came.
Following a long pause, the duo came back on the crease to bat the next four overs as the match was reduced to a 10-over affair. They carried their bats through to 90 for no loss while the target was revised to 109 as per Duckworth/Lewis method.
However, England never had the opportunity to chase as another rain interruption ended the game

Defending champions England eye winning start
In match 6, defending champions England will hope to get their title defence off to a winning start when they face Scotland in their T20 World Cup opener at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados today.
Rain played spoilsport in their preparations for the World Cup in the preceding four-match T20I series at home against Pakistan, but England will still enter the tournament as one of the strong contenders to lift the title for an unprecedented third time.
This will be the first-ever T20I meeting between the two sides of the United Kingdom. England will also return to Bridgetown, the venue where they won their first-ever ICC trophy win way back in 2010.
England players come in on the back of good IPL
Phil Salt and Will Jacks will look to continue their red-hot form of the Indian Premier League in the T20 show-piece, while skipper Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali also will look to carry form. England will also hope Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone and Ben Duckett fire with the bat.
Pacer Jofra Archer's return adds firepower to the English bowling attack that also includes Sam Curran, Mark Wood, Reece Topley, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid and Tom Hartley.
Scotland look to make an impression
Playing in their third consecutive T20 World Cup, Scotland are no match to their fancied opponents on paper but they will nonetheless look to make an impression after having breezed through the European qualifiers.
Scotland led by Richie Berrington won all six of their matches in the qualifiers to finish top of the standings, which guaranteed them a ticket to the West Indies and the USA for the marquee tournament.
