Australia secured a victory over Scotland in their final group-stage match of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Sunday.
The Aussies won the match by 5 wickets and thus eliminated Scotland from the T20 World Cup, also ensuring England's progression to the Super Eights.
Brandon McMullen scored a brilliant fifty as Scotland posted 180 runs after batting first in the match. Munsey and Berrington also played a couple of crucial knocks as Scotland posted the highest total by an associate nation against Australia in T20I matches.
Australia suffered blows early on in the run chase as David Warner and Mitchell Marsh departed early. Travis Head played a fantastic knock of 68 runs in just 49 balls to hold the Aussie run chase together, but the innings of the match came from Marcus Stoinis, who scored 59 runs off just 29 balls to bring Australia into the hunt. Despite the duo's dismissal, Tim David took the Aussies home with an unbeaten knock of 28 runs.
