Year Ender 2024: The Rock's New Year Day Appearance to Undertaker WM Assist - Top 6 Returns in WWE This Year

The year 2024 has delivered some shocks and thrills to the WWE fans all across the globe, starting from day one of company's show till the very recent editions of Raw, SmackDown and the other premium live events.

There have been some stunning returns, featuring the marquee stars and big name stars of the company, who made in-ring appearances during the course of the year. Here is look at some of the best comebacks and returns that took place in WWE in 2024:

Top 6 Returns in WWE in 2024

The Rock: The Rock's appearance on New Year's day 2024 was not a hidden secret as Triple H had announced just before Raw day one that a former WWE champion is going to grace the ring once again. People were anticipating several names to make a come back.

But fans were left disappointed as it was Jinder Mahal's entrance music that hit first on Raw and the whole arena booed at him. However, the Rock arrived moments later to shock everyone and make a return to WWE, declaring war against Roman Reigns to become the Head of the Table.

Despite teasing the dream match, Rock, who had a big part to play in Wrestlemania XL, feuded against Cody Rhodes and came in support of Roman Reigns to take on Rhodes and Rollins in a tag team contest.

John Cena: Cena's return took the fans by surprise as he came back back to save Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline at the grandest stage of them all at Wrestlemania XL night 2. He eliminated the threat of Solo Sikoa and even AA'd Roman Reigns before ultimately surrendering to The Rock.

Cena later showed up at the Money in the Bank PLE to announce that WrestleMania 41 will be his last Mania event, hinting that he will be invovled in many events in 2025, teasing a potential match with one of the prime stars.

The Undertaker: Like John Cena, the Undertaker too made a brief appearance at the Show of Shows, providing an assist to Cody Rhodes in the battle against the Bloodline during the main event on Night 2 of WrestleMania 40. Taker made his first ring appearance in a long time.

Rey Mysterio: Rey Mysterio returned to SmackDown on the 1st of March to help LWO members against Legado Del Fantasma. During the street fight between Carlito and Santos Escobar, Carlito was attacked by Angel and Humberto. Mysterio walked out with crutches, but bluffed Escobar with an attack.

Seth Rollins: After pulling double duties at WrestleMania 40, Seth Rollins, who lost the tag team match with Cody Rhodes against the Rock and Roman Reigns and then his World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre, missed a few months of action. The former champion was injured, but return to huge pop from the fans in June after a couple of months away from action.

Roman Reigns: Since dropping his title to Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns took a break and returned at SummerSlam breaking other wrestlers' records for social media views. His return garnered nearly 100 million views on WWE social media, surpassing The Rock's 89 million and CM Punk's 85 million. Reigns' return was also considered the most-watched moment from WWE SummerSlam.

Later, Roman Reigns made his presence felt after he had gone into another short break, coming to the aid of Rhodes, who was attacked by the Bloodline on Raw episode in September.
