WWE: Roman Reigns Vs Braun Strowman to be an 'Ambulance Match' at Payback PPV

Bengaluru, April 23: WWE Payback PPV will take place on April 30 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. This will be the first Raw-exclusive PPV event after Wrestlemania where we are supposed to settle most of the fallouts from the grandest stage. As announced by WWE so far, there will be two main events on that night.

Roman Reigns will square off against Braun Strowman in a match which will mark the culmination of their rivalry. In a similar fashion, Randy Orton will go against his long-term rival, Bray Wyatt. This match is going to be the first-ever House of Horrors match in the WWE.

Now, as per the recent reports, there should be big changes in both of these main events. The official announcement regarding the same might be coming in the next episodes of Raw and Smackdown, next week.



Cagesideseats.com reported that Reigns' match against Strowman will be contested under a special stipulation. Most probably, it is going to be an ambulance match. This is to ensure that these two behemoths can tear each other apart under the "No Holds Barred" capacity.

Plus, at this point, Strowman is supposed to receive a big push, going forward. Hence, he is the suitable winner in this upcoming bout. But, WWE does not intend to portray Reigns a weaker opponent, either. This match would also ensure avoiding a clean pinfall loss for the Big Dog, as well.



In case you don't know, in an "Ambulance Match", a superstar wins the match after he is able to put his opponent into the ambulance placed in the arena and lock in the door.

At this point, Reigns is out of action after Strowman delivered a brutal assault to him, two weeks ago. This was WWE creative's idea to sideline him from WWE TV to protect him from the negative reactions he was receiving after he retired the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

He is expected to return on this upcoming episode of Raw to confront the mountain among men. WWE will continue to portray Reigns as the one who came back earlier from the shoulder separation injury. This would also save him from looking weak after suffering the loss at the hands of Strowman.
