WWE: John Cena and Roman Reigns hint to future marquee match on Twitter

Bengaluru, July 27: John Cena has been considered as the franchise player of the WWE for the better part of the last two decades. It's a fact that considering his age, his days in the company are numbered. He is no longer available on a full-time basis and rather performs only in the bigger events.

In order to get his replacement, the company has chosen Roman Reigns to be the next franchise player. Whether the crowd love him or not, Vince McMahon is quite determined to highlight him to be the future of the brand.

This certainly paves the way for a match between the two franchise players which is considered as 'passing the torch' match. Previously, The Rock-Stone Cold or The Rock-John Cena had taken place with exact same situation.

Most recently, Cena and Reigns had an altercation on Twitter teasing the same.

Following the Battleground PPV, the Big Dog posted a tweet saying that the host city of Philadelphia remained very quiet for the better part of the event which is quite different to their usual raucous nature.

This jibe was taken to the entire locker room of Smackdown as if they were unable to deliver a successful show. The Big Dog also claimed that when he returns to Philly with the Raw roster, the atmosphere will be much different.

Being a leader in the locker room, John Cena did not take this shot lightly and fired back at the marquee player of Raw. He wanted a fight with the man who claims WWE to be his yard. Reigns also accepted the fight, in reply.

This is not the first time that these two had a Twitter war. At one point, this match is bound to happen. This is the sole reason why John Cena has been given the status of 'free agent', so that he can swap to the Raw brand, as well.

Wrestlemania 34 is probably the time for this mega match to happen, as per the speculations. This will ensure that the company would have both of their franchise players performing in the main event of the biggest show of the year.
