WWE: Drew McIntyre re-signs contract, debuts at the NXT brand

Bengaluru, April 6: The speculation of Drew McIntyre aka former Impact wrestling promotion's superstar, Drew Galloway returning to the WWE was there for quite a long time.

He was done with his former employer in the month of March upon which WWE creative started contacting him for the second run in the company.

The deal was confirmed after Drew McIntyre appeared in an interview with ESPN to declare the same.

To give hints of the same, he was spotted at the NXT Takeover: Orlando event hosted the night before Wrestlemania.

Furthermore, he let his intentions clear that he is eyeing the NXT championship upon return. With this announcement, it is clear that Drew is going to be the next marquee player in the developmental brand. Here are his comments regarding his WWE deal:

"Well, the answer's pretty simple. I've won championships all across the world. I've helped build brands. So what's the next logical thing for me to do?

"It's to come here and win the NXT title. If that's not clear enough for everybody, Drew McIntyre has signed with NXT."

McIntyre also confirmed that the Impact Wrestling was also seeking him for another contract signing. However, they kept him waiting for a long time forcing him to turn the offer down.

The timing issue was a bigger factor, here as stated by him during an interview with The Sun: “They came to me last week with an offer and it was very very good one, one of the best in the company and a position as a top guy but the reality is that because they waited until the last second I had to turn it down.

"Everything was so last minute. I had to think about backup plans and family because it went to the wire."

At the latest taping on NXT, The Scottish Superstar has already made his debut on the show. If reports from 434.com are to be believed, then he will receive a big push on the brand.

He will be used to fulfil the void of Shinsuke Nakamura. So, it will be only a matter of time until he gets to the NXT title picture.
