WWE champion Jinder Mahal spills the beans on his Summerslam opponent

Bengaluru, July 24: In the month of May, WWE decided to pull off a shocker for the fans all over the world by letting Jinder Mahal win the WWE Championship.

The pro-wrestling industry was shaken by the incident that took place during the Backlash PPV at the All-State Arena in Chicago. However, it turned out to be a brilliant move by the creative team.

For quite sometime, the company has been in search of a face who could represent the fans in India and have finally got one in Jinder Mahal.

With his dominant ongoing championship reign, the Indian audience are definitely more attached to the WWE promo which is increasing its viewership in the subcontinent.

Ever since he has became the WWE Champion, he has been involved in a feud with Randy Orton. With this past Sunday's match, he has gone past with The Viper and will find himself a new opponent, at the earliest.

Summerslam is just four weeks away from now and the buildup for the same should start from this week onwards.

Jinder Mahal recently appeared on USA Today's 'Title For Win' where he was asked about his potential opponent. Apparently while talking about the same, he might have given a big spoiler for the upcoming feud.

The WWE Champion noted that he is willing to face none other than the marquee of the company at Summerslam on August 20th by stating,

'He is this generation's greatest, I am the future, I don't think I've hit my prime, I need to establish myself. Beating someone of the caliber of John Cena at an event like SummerSlam would be awesome.'

This match is quite an inevitable one, according to reports from multiple sources. Apart from the Cenation Leader, there's no valid contender at this time on Smackdown. So, the creative is likely to pit Jinder against a franchise player of the company.

It is another indication that how much the WWE is willing to push the Indian-origin superstar. A match with the most renowned player at the biggest event of the summer will take his career to an all-time high.

Plus, he is not expected to drop his title soon considering a trip to India as the champion is still due. So, you can only imagine how it will boost Jinder's career after pulling off the biggest victory of his pro career.
