What's Sloane Stephens' biggest inspiration? A checque!

Bengaluru, September 12: Newly crowned US Open champion Sloane Stephens is defensive only while playing tennis.

The 24-year-old American is a witty, smiling presence off the court, especially while fronting up to the media.

Stephens showed her funny bone after winning her maiden Grand Slam at the Flushing Meadows.

A reporter was curious whether the victory will act as an inspiration for Stephens to win some more Slams.

Now, cliched replies like "yes, a great source of inspiration", "readying for newer challenges ahead" etc are not for Stephens.

"Of course girl. Have you seen that checque that lady handed me. Man, if that does not then I don't what will inspire you to play tennis," said Stephens even as the press brigade cracked.
Now, champions need not be serious and poker-faced. Isn't it?
