Tennis titles for Tanwar, Jayaraman and Dubey

Chandigarh, Jan 23 (UNI) K Jayaraman of Delhi-Jaipur Zone and Kapil Dubey of MP-Chhattisgarh Zone claimed the plus 40 and plus 50 singles tennis titles, respectively, in the North Zone Central Revenue Games at the Lake Club courts here today.

K Jayaraman defeated Deepak Mishra in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 in the above 40 singles final. Kapil Dubey defeated JC Pegu of Delhi-Jaipur Zone in the above 50 category in the final in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.

Jagdish Tanwar of Delhi-Jaipur defeated Ajay Chatterjee of MP-Chhattisgarh Zone 6-2, 6-2 to bag the open singles title. Tanwar went on to capture double title as in partnership with Laxmi Kant Tanwar beat Atnav Chatterjee and Kapil Dubey of MP-Chhattisgarh Zone 6-1, 6-2 in the open doubles final.

The men's plus 40 doubles title was claimed by JC Pegu and K Jaya Raman (Delhi-Jaipur) who prevailed over Deepak Mihsra and Kapil Dubey (MP-Chhattisgarh) 6-4, 7-5.

Mr S L Thakur, Commissioner (Appeals), Central Excise, distributed the prizes.

Above 50 singles: Kapil Duney (MP-Chhattisgarh) bt JC Pegu (Delhi-Jaipur) 6-2, 6-1. Doubles: Winners: Y K Gaiha and Kapil Dubey (MP-Chhattisgarh).
