Tennis coaching camp for Vietnamese boys, girls in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, June 19 (UNI) Eleven budding tennis players from Vietnam, including Asia's Under-14 fourth rank Pham Chung An Kha, are undergoing strenuous high performance tennis training at The Srag Tennis Academy here for two months beginning today.

These eleven players, six boys and five girls, are accompanied by their coach Tran Dai Nghia. They will be trained by international coach Kawaljeet Singh and NIS coach V K Ravat.

Talking to mediapersons here, Singh said these budding tennis talents will be trained for two months, till August 25. They will be trained here for six weeks and two weeks in New Delhi.

He said during the first two weeks, the players will be trained in techniques that will help them build up their physical and mental capabilities through various skills development programmes. After that, they will be provided more comprehensive training.

That apart, the players will play practice matches with Indian tennis players from Ahmedabad city and elsewhere.

In the final stages of the training camp, two All India Tennis Association (AITA) tournaments will be played by these players with Indian stars and their performance will be evaluated.

Singh will be training the Vietnamese players for two years as per a contract with the Vietnam Tennis Federation.
