Tata Steel organises coaching clinics for tennis players
Jamshedpur, Sep 1 (UNI) In a bid to improve tennis in the steel city here, steel major Tata Steel has organised a week-long coaching clinics under the banner of Jamshedpur Tennis Development Scheme (JTDS) for the tennis aspirants from today.
Coordinator of JTDS S K Tyagi said freshly graduated ITF Level one coach Debapriyo Das, who graduated to ITF last year, would be coaching the players while Bipul Das would provide guidance to him.
Simon Chakravorty would be the assitant coach and was also appointed as the physical instructor for this tour, he said.
Tyagi said holding of such clinics was necessary as the students and the coaches reached a saturation point after some time and hence a change of perspective was required from time to time.
He said coaching strategies and styles had changed over a period of time and it was necessary to get the students updated on those aspects.
Tyagi said the students would be divided into three groups-- Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.
He said those clinics would also upgrade the players to enhance their rankings and do better in the coming tournaments.
