Somdev-Martin out of doubles event

Johannesburg, Feb 4 (PTI) Somdev Devvarman and DavidMartin bowed out of the doubles event of the SA Tennis Openafter losing the closely fought quarter-final against KarolBeck and Dudi Sela.

The Indo-American pair fought valiantly before losing7-6(1) 3-6 10-12 to Slovakian-Israeli pair in the last-eightstage match of the USD 442,500 ATP hard court event.

Beck and Sela had shocked top seeds Dustin Brown ofGermany and Dutch Rogier Wassen 6-3 7-5 in their openinground.

Somdev will now look to do well in the singles eventwhere he has already reached the quarter-final.

He will clash against South African Rik de Voest for aplace in the semi-finals.
