Serena Williams wins Australian Open title
MELBOURNE, Jan 27 (Reuters) Serena Williams won the Australian Open title with a 6-1 6-2 win over Russian top seed Maria Sharapova today.
The American became only the second unseeded woman to win the Australian Open crown in the professional era after Chris O'Neill achieved the feat in 1978.
