Sania up against Italian Romina Oprandi in Qatar opener

Doha, Feb 25 (UNI) Sania Mirza will take on Italian Romina Oprandi in the opening round of the 1,340,000 dollar Qatar Total Open starting here tomorrow.

Sania, who was last seen in action in the Bangalore Open where she made a shocking quarterfinal exit, is likely to meet German Anna-Lena Groenfeld in the second round if she gets past the world number 60 Italian.

The tier-II hardcourt event will also see top stars like world number two Justine Henin Hardenne, Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova and Swiss comeback queen Martina Hingis in action.

The trio has been seeded one to three and got walkovers in their opening round clashes.
