Sania out of Kremlin Cup doubles competition

Moscow, Oct 11 (UNI) Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Patty Schnyder fell just short of pulling off a giantkilling act as they lost 3-6, 7-5, 7-10 to top seeds Cara Black and Liezel Huber in a thrilling doubles quater-final of the Kremlin Cup here today.

The unseeded Indo-Swiss pair came back strongly from one set down to win the closely fought second set and take the tie to the decider only to fail to come up trumps against their Zimbabwe/ United States rival combo in a battle of nerves.

Black and Huber won the third set in super tie-breaker to pocket the match in one hour and 33 minutes.

Sania had already crashed out of the singles competition, losing to Gisela Dulko of Argentina 3-6, 4-6 in the first round of the 1,340,000 dollar Tier I event.
