Razzano halts Sania's dream run
Los Angeles, Aug 10: An overruled winner in the make-or-break second set tiebreaker saw Sania Mirza lose her temper and, eventually, the match, as Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano ended the Indian ace's dream run in the pre-quarterfianls of the Los Angeles Classic here.
Down one set, a furious Sania lost the plot after the chair umpire overruled in what looked like a winner in the second point of the tiebreaker. The controversial call proved to be decisive as Hyderabadi lass went on to lose the match 1-6, 6-7 (6/8).
''We are all humans and I know, I have a short temper,'' said the World No 30, who had defeated five-time Grand Slam winner Martina Hingis en route to a berth in the last 16.
After playing top quality tennis for four weeks in a row, the Indian ace has pulled out of next week's tournament in Toronto for a much-deserved break. She would then participate in the Forest Hills tournament in New York, before going into the US Open.
