Prakash, Rastogi to fight it out in Futures Tennis final
Chandigarh, June 1 (UNI) Top seed Karan Rastogi will meet unseeded Prakash Amritraj in the final of the 10,000 dollars SAIL ITF Men's Futures Tennis Tournament tomorrow at the CLTA Stadium here.
The 64 minute semi-final match between Rastogi and Vijay Kannan turned out to be an one-sided affair as the young Davis cupper snuffed out the fourth seeded Kannan's challenge in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 today.
Rastogi started the first set in majestic style and broke Kannan's serve in the second and eighth game to pocket the set 6-2.
The second set was no different as the top seed continued his domination and broke Kannan's serve twice to wrap up the match 6-2.
In the other semi-final, Prakash Amritraj took 57 minutes to outplay 982nd ranked Vishal Punna 6-2 6-1.
Amritraj made his intentions clear from the word go as he broke Punna in the first game of the first set and held his serve to race to a 2-0 lead. With Punna winning the third game on his serve at love, it gave impression that he may put up a tough resistance.
However, Amritraj had other as he showed his superiority in the court with powerfull sideline volley's and exquisite net play.
Amritraj broke Punna's serve again in the seventh game of the set to extend his lead 5-2.
He then held his serve to wrap up the match and fix up date with Rastogi in tomorrow's final.
