Paes/Hanley defeat Nadal/Ferrer in Palm Springs Masters doubles

Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) Leander Paes and his Australian partner Paul Hanley made a successful beginning to their doubles campaign in the Palm Springs Masters at US with a straight sets victory over the Spanish duo of Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer.

Paes and Hanley, both making a comeback after suffering ankle injuries, were in fine nick as they outplayed Nadal and Ferrer 6-3, 6-4 in the doubles first round, to set up a second round encounter against the Argentine pair of David Nalbandian and Guillermo Canas.
