Paes-Martin squeeze past second round

Paris, May 31 (UNI) Error prone Indo-Czech pair of Leander Paes and Martin Damm survived anxious moments before managing to overpower local duo of Jeremy Chardy and Jonathan Eysseric 7-6(4), 7-6(2) to move into the second round of French Open tennis here.

The experienced third seed pair were lucky to emerge as winners as their rivals lost their nerves at crucial moments frittering away some good chances.

It was an uneven display by Paes and Damm,who committed several unforced errors and could convert only one break point out of 10 that came their way.
