Ljubicic to quit Croatia's Davis Cup team

KREFELD, Germany, Feb 11 (Reuters) Ivan Ljubicic will retire from Davis Cup tennis after this year, the Croatian number one said today.

The 27-year-old Ljubicic, who helped Croatia to their Davis Cup triumph in 2005, saw his hopes of a second success dashed today when his straight-sets loss to Tommy Haas gave Germany a 3-1 winning lead in their world group first-round tie.

''I've won one Davis Cup but now I won't win another one,'' Ljubicic said at a news conference.

He has yet to decide whether to play in Croatia's world group relegation playoff later in the year.
