India outclass China 2-0 in Jr Davis Cup

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) In a bid to qualify for the World Group, India conmtinued its winning spree and defeated China 2-0 in the Asia Oceania Junior Davis Cup tennis tournament at the DLTA Complex here today.

World junior number five, Yuki Bhambri outplayed Yang Lu in the first singles 6-3, 6-0. LU succeeded to an extent in the first game in which he has won three games.

However, Bhambri raced through the second set and won it easily 6-0.

Saurabh Singh, who has won his previous all encouters here, defeated Gyan Yu Cao in the second singles by 6-1, 7-5.

After winning the first set easily, Saurabh took things a little easy and the Chinese did well to stretch the game into the tie-breakers. However, the Indian held his nerve at the crucial juncture and finally wrapped the game and match by winning the set 7-5.

The top four teams from the zone will make it to the World Group final in Mexico from September 23 to 28 this year.
