India, Kazakhstan tied 2-2 in Davis Cup play-off

New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) Kazakhstan top player Alexei Kedryuk beat India's Rohan Bopanna 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-4 in a thrilling first reverse singles to level the tie 2-2 and send the Asia-Oceania Davis Cup Group 1 relegation play-off at Almaty today.

Kedryuk's win over Bopanna sent the first ever tie between the two countries in the history of the men's team tennis competition down to wire and the final result will be decided when Karan Rastogi takes on Dmitry Makeyev in the second reverse singles later today.

A win by Bopanna against Kedryuk would have sealed the issue for India besides completing Bopanna's fine run in the tournament.

India were leading 2-1 before today's reverse singles after Bopanna won his singles against Makeyev and doubles, partnering with captain Leander Paes, against Kedryuk and Makeyev.

Rastogi had lost his singles match against Kedruyk UNI
