Bhupathi-Knowles advance into quarterfinal of Monte Carlo masters

New Delhi, April 24 (UNI) Tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamas partner Mark Knowles cruised into the doubles quarterfinals of Monte Carlo Masters Tennis tournament in Monaco.

The fourth seeded pair of Bhupathi and Knowles defeated the Brazilian duo Marcelo Melo and Andre 6-4, 6-3 in the second round last night.

The duo will face fifth seed Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Julian Knowle of Austria in the quaterfinals.

Meanwhile, Leander Paes and Australian Paul Hanley exited from the tournament when they go down 4-6, 6-3, 3-10 against second seed Israeli pair of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram in another second round match.
