Badrinath spitfire dazzles Twenty-20
Kolkata, Jan 18 (UNI) S Badrinath showed why he is one of the most talked about youngsters on the block when he hit an unbeaten 76 and took three wickets to guide Chemplast to a thumping nine wicket win over Karnataka State in the Tewnty-20 cricket tournament today.
In another match Indian defeated Lankan Masters by an identical margin.
But the highlight of the day was S Badrinath, who hit an unbeaten 76 off 41 balls with six fours and four sixes.
Earlier, while bowling he gave 25 runs in four overs and took three wickets.
Karnataka batting first scored 131 for nine off the 20 overs and Chemplast romped home 133 for one in 15.1 overs.
Barrington Ronald was the highest scorer for the losers with 31 runs.
In the other match of the day Lankan Masters made 142 for eight with Shamuk Pradeep scoring 53 and Sanjiva Weerasinghe scoring 3.
Indian reached the target scoring 146 for the loss of one wicket.
Ravneet Ricky was unbeaten on 62 off 51 balls with seven fours and one six.
Sonu Sharma and rajat Bhatia took two wickets each for Indian Airlines.
