Amritraj downs Rastogi to lift ITF Futures singles title
Dehra Dun, June 9 (UNI) Fourth seeded Prakash Amritraj clinched his second title in two weeks as he whipped top seed Karan Rastogi 6-1, 6-2 in the ITF Men's Futures Tennis Tournament single's final here today.
Amritraj had won ITF Futures tennis title in Chandigarh last week.
After being out of circuit for almost seven months following a wrist injury, Amritraj showed he has got back the confidence as he took just 75 minutes to demolish Rastogi.
He won the first set by breaking Rastogi in second and fourth games. His powerful serve and precise baseline game left no room for Rastogi who was sent running all over the court. Frustrated Rastogi was seen throwing his racket on the court many times.
In the second set too, Amritraj looked dominant through out. He broke his opponent twice in third and seventh games and went on to win the set 6-2 and match with ease.
Amritraj collected 12 ATP points and 1,300 dollars for his effort while Rastogi had to settle for eight ATP points and 900 dollars.
Later, a confident Amritraj said he is looking forward to make a hat-trick of titles in New Delhi ITF Tournament.
