All foreign affair in ITF-Juniors
Kolkata, Jan 19 (UNI) The finals at the *ONGC-ITF Juniors *will be played between Kittiphong Wachiramanowong of Thailand and Jeong-Han Seo of Korea and the girls' singles will be played between Nanuli Pipiya of Russia and Nadia Lalami of Morrocco.
Eighth seed Kittiphong Wachiramanowong reached the finals beating WildB Card Yuki Bhambri in straight sets 6-2,6-4 in 74 minutes. Bhambri was broken in the first game. He broke back in the fourth only to lose his serve in the fifth and then again in the seventh. The only game where he showed some fight was the eighth game. There were five deuces but Wachiramanowong took the set at 6-2. In the second set Bhambri lost his serves in the fifth and ninth games.
He broke Wachiramanowong in the eighth but could not save the match. In the second semi finals second seed Prajnesh Gunneswaran failed to make the cut and lost to seventh seed Korean Jeong-Han Seo in straight sets 6-0,6-4 in 80 minutes. The first set was over in thirty minutes. In the second set Seo broke Gunneswaran in the first, third and fifth games and lost his serve in the fourth to go up 4-1. Gunneswaran fought back and broke Seo in the sixth and eighth games to take the score to 4-4 but got broken in the ninth.
In the final game Seo rallied from 15.40 to take the set and match.
Unseeded Nanuli Pipiya of Russia made it to the finals at the expense of Alyona Satnikova of Ukraine. Pipiya took 50 minutes to white wash Alyona 6-0,6-0. In the second semi finals third seeded Moroccan Nadia Lalami defeated second seeded Sophia Mulsap of Thailand in 62 minutes. The match went against serves. Nadia lost the first game on her serve and broke back in the fourth. Sophia was again broken in the sixth, eighth and tenth games while Nadia lost her serve in the seventh and ninth games to lose the set 4-6. Nadia served two aces and four double faults while Sophia served three double faults.
In the first game of the second set Nadia saved six break points before going on to retain her service. Nadia lost her serve in the third game. She broke Sophia in the second, sixth and eighth game to take the match. Sophia served three double faults while Nadia had two aces and a double fault to her credit.
Unseeded Ukrainian pair Yuliya Goloborodko and Anastasiya Vasylyeva clinched the Girls' Doubles title by defeating the top seeded Indonesian pair Beatrice Gumulya and Jessy Rompies 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in 112 minutes. The prizes for the finals were distributed by Mr. Chuni Goswami.
