28th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship: Siddharth, Rashmikaa crowned champions
New Delhi, Oct 7: The 28th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship crowned Siddharth Vishwakarma from Uttar Pradesh and Rashmikaa S Bhamidipaty from Telangana as champions.
In the boys' U-18 singles category, the winner was Rashil Khosla of UP, with Maharashtra's Aishwarya Jadhav seizing the girls' U-18 singles title. The tournament took place at the DLTA Complex, New Delhi, on October 7.

Siddharth arrived at a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 comeback win against Haryana's Karan Singh, and Rashmikaa saw through a nail-biting 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 triumph over Gujarat's previous champion, Vaidhee Chaudhari.
Siddharth, a third-seed tennis player, gained his second championship with his potent strokes embodied by accurate backhands. The first Fenesta National honor he bagged was in 2018.
He expressed his satisfaction after the match, "Attaining the Fenesta Open championship again, five years later, is an incredible accomplishment. My coach, Ratan Sharma, has been an invaluable asset throughout my career. I feel very prepared for the forthcoming tournaments."
The winners were awarded shimmering trophies and enticing monetary prices at the awards event. Among the attendees were prominent figures such as Saket Jain, Executive Director and Business Head of Fenesta Building Systems, and DLTA President Rohit Rajpal. The champions and runners-up went home with trophies and INR 3 lakh and INR 2 lakh respectively.
Rashmikaa secured her maiden title in a third-set decisive women's singles clash.
The tournament was sponsored by DCM Shriram Ltd., under the supervision of All India Tennis Association and Delhi Lawn Tennis Association. Past editions have seen performances by esteemed Indian tennis players like Rohan Bopanna, Somdev Devvarman, Yuki Bhambri, Sania Mirza, and Rutuja Bhosale.
Rashmikaa reminisced, "The experience of participating in Fenesta Nationals this year has been incredible. The final match against a close friend was rather challenging, but I managed to keep my cool."
Elsewhere, Uttar Pradesh's Rushil Khosla dominated the U-18 boys' singles, defeating Maharashtra's Samarth Sahita 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets.
Lastly, Aishwarya Jadhav of Maharashtra emerged as the champion in girls' U-18 singles, triumphing over Suhitha Maruri of Karnataka in an intense final match scoring 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
