McLaren deserves to lead F1 championship: Button

London, Apr 23(ANI): Reigning Formula One Jenson Button reckons he is having a fantastic time following his incredible start to the season.

Button is at the top of the drivers' standings after leading home team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday, and currently has a 10-point lead over second placed Mercedes' Nico Rosberg.

"It has been an absolutely incredible start to the season. Just incredible. To say I'm satisfied would be a massive understatement," The Mirror quoted Button, as saying.

"I am absolutely blown away by all the events of the last five weeks, and to be on top in the world championship is just an amazing place to be. And it feels so good," he added.

The 30-year-old further attributed the success to his McLaren team, and insisted they thoroughly deserved to be on top.

"It's been achieved through hard work. We got here because everyone in the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team has been working for this every single day. We've all been working like crazy to get to the front, and I think our current position in both championships is well and truly deserved," Button said.

"We've not got everything right, but the fact that we've admitted that, and just got on and learned from it, has been a very valuable experience," he added. (ANI)
