YPS Patiala beat Modern School, Delhi in sixes tournament
Patiala, Apr 15 (UNI) Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Patiala defeated Modern School, Delhi, by four wickets in the final of Dhruv Pandove Memorial YPS Sixes Cricket Tournament at the YPS ground here today.
Batting first, Modern School scored 52 for 3 in five overs.
Rohan Tuteja was the star performer with unbeaten 32. In reply, YPS notched up 53 in 4.2 overs, losing just one wicket, to clinch the title.
Earlier in the day, YPS, Patiala, defeated YPS,Mohali, by five wickets in the semi-final match.
At the prize distribution function after the final match, Amandeep Singh of YPS,Patiala, won Man of the Match award as also the Best Batsman of the Tournament award. M Sharma of Modern School, Delhi, bagged the Best Bowler award; Milind of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, Delhi, was declared the Best Allrounder; Arjun Gupta of Modern School, Delhi, won the Best Fielder award.
In the two-day cricket extravaganza, twenty two matches were played in all, including the fifteen league matches in the preliminary round. The principal of YPS, Patiala, R P Devgan, gave away the prizes.
