Yogesh, Ilavazhaki bag men and women's title

New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) Yogesh Pardeshi (Institution's) and I Ilavazhaki (South Zone) won the men and women's singles titles respectively in the Sundaram BNP Trophy Inter Zonal Carrom Championship here.

Pune-based Pardeshi faced tough time against reigning national champion B Radhakrishnan before emerging winner 25-20, 25-5.

In the match for the third place, Dilesh Khedekar of Institution team defeated his team mate Nagsen Etambe 25-10, 0-25, 25-22.

In the women section, world cup winner Illavazhaki played strongly against the reigning national champion Rashmi Kumai (East Zone) to claim the title 25-8, 25-24.

D Swaranlatha of Institution defeated team mate R Sharmila 25-0, 25-0 to finish third.
