Yasin, Alok, Geet, Manan for MIG snooker
Mumbai, June 21 (UNI) Alok Kumar, Yasin Merchant, Manan Chandra and Geet Sethi are amongst a galaxy of the country's elite cueists who will feature in the inaugural Rs 2.5 lakh prize money Nahar Group-MIG All India Invitation Snooker Tournament to be held at the MIG Club, Bandra (East) from June 27 to 30.
The tournament, being held under the auspices of the Billiards&Snooker Association of Maharashtra, includes 16 of India's best players who will be placed in four groups in the league phase. The top two from each group will qualify for the knock out quarter-finals.
Among the other big names in the fray are Aditya Mehta, Devendra Joshi, Ashok Shandilya, Kamal Chawla, Sarang Shroff and MIG's Gaurav Prabhu.
The league phase will be played over best of five frames, while the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be best-of-seven frames contests and the final best-of-nine.
The winner will receive Rs 60,000, while the runner-up will earn Rs 35,000.
In addition, the semi-finalists will receive Rs 20,000, the quarter-finalists Rs 11,000 and the non-qualifiers for the knock out Rs 7,000.
The 16 who will feature in the tournament are Alok Kumar, Rupesh Shah, Yasin Merchant, Manan Chandra, Sarang Shroff, Kamal Chawla, Geet Sethi, Aditya Mehta, Sourav Kothari, Rishabh Pandya, Shravan Mohta, Devendra Joshi, Brijesh Damani, D Raj Kumar, Ashok Shandilya and Gaurav Prabhu.
