Woods to tee off with Beem, Tway at Southern Hills

AKRON, Ohio, Aug 4 (Reuters) Title-holder Tiger Woods will play with fellow Americans and former winners Rich Beem and Bob Tway for the first two rounds of next week's PGA Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

World number one Woods is scheduled to tee off with 2002 champion Beem and 1986 winner Tway from the 10th hole at 0845 local (1345 GMT) in Thursday's opening round.

Woods, who will be bidding for his 13th major title, cruised to victory by five strokes in last year's PGA Championship held at Medinah.

Phil Mickelson, the 2005 winner at Baltusrol, has been paired with fellow Americans David Toms and Jeff Sluman for the first two rounds at Southern Hills Country Club.

Mickelson and company are set to start on the first tee from 1350 (1850 GMT).

In other high-profile groupings, world number two Jim Furyk has been drawn with Britain's Luke Donald and Jonathan Byrd of the U.S.

while Ernie Els will play with eight-time European number one Colin Montgomerie and American Stewart Cink.

The PGA Championship, the last of the year's four majors, takes place from Aug. 9-12.
