Why is Imran Nazir here, asks coach Woolmer
Kingston, Jamaica, Mar 17 (UNI) It's not about winning or losing in the Pakistan cricket, it's about how you place the blame.
After the 54-run loss at the hands of hosts West Indies in the World Cup lung opener, coach Bob Woolmer seems to have subscribed to the adage as he questions Imran Nazir's selection for the quadrennial event.
''Imran Nazir was picked by the chairman of selectors and you should ask him why he is here,'' said an exasperated Woolmer who asked to comment on Imran Nazir failure to find form in recent matches.
Nazir made the cut over Yasir Hameed and experienced Imran Farhat. But as the swashbuckler seems horribly out-of-touch, questions are being raised over his utility in the Caribbean.
''You can send back players and bring in new ones. The tournament rules do not allow it,'' he said and added that Imran will have to rise to the occasion as the team cannot afford him throwing away his wicket cheaply all the time.
