West Indian Simmons appointed Ireland coach
Dublin, Mar 1 (UNI) Former West Indies all-rounder Phil Simmons will take over as Ireland coach after the Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean.
His contract will run till the end of 2009 or 2011 World Cup in England if Ireland qualifies in the quadrennial mega event.
Simmons played 26 Tests and 143 ODIs and coached Zimbabwe's national side from September 2004 to August 2005.
