West Bengal beat Rajasthan in Junior Nationals

Vijayawada, Jan 16 (UNI) West Bengal today defeated Rajasthan 3-0 in the girls' section of the 33rd Junior National Volleyball championship played here.

West Bengal trounced rajasthan 25-21,25-16,25-06 in straight sets in Pool 'C'.

In the other matches, Chhattisgarh defeated Uttaranchal 25-17,25-15,25-16, while defending champion Kerala outplayed Delhi 25-8,25-12,25-15 in Pool 'A'. Uttar Pradesh outwitted Karnataka 17-25,25-22,25-18 25-11 and Haryana defeated Orissa 25-13, 25-08, 25-08 in pool 'D'.

In league-phase matches held in the boy's section, defending champion Karnataka won the match in straight sets over Himachal Pradesh with a score of 25-14,25-18,28-26 in pool 'A' and Haryana crushed Delhi 25-22,25-14,25-18 in Pool 'C'.

Bihar beat Gujarat 25-19,25-21,25-18 in pool 'C' in the other league (boys) match.

The match in Pool 'D' of boy's section between Uttar pradesh and Manipur was not held as Manipur did not turned up for the match.

Uttar Pradesh was declared the winner.

Tamil Nadu pipped Assam 25-07,25-08,25-07 in Pool 'B' and Rajasthan beat Tripura 25-13,25-08,25-16 in pool 'C' in girl's segment.
