Wadiyar promises to work in tandem with Opposition group
Bangalore, Sep 10 (UNI) The newly elected Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) president Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar today said he was ready to cooperate with the opposition group in the KSCA.
Talking to newspersons after assuming office at M Chinnaswamy stadium, the headquarters of KSCA here, he said, ''We will sit together with the opposition group and concentrate on promoting Cricket in Karnataka.'' ''Our first priority is to make the first ODI match between India and Australia, scheduled to be held here at the Chinnaswamy stadium on September 29, a big success,'' he added.
To a question, he said the corruption charges levelled by him against the Brijesh Patel group would not be given up and the law would take its own course.
''The corruption charges were discussed in the AGM held yesterday before the elections. However, we are not planning to move the court,'' he said.
Brijesh Patel, who was also present on the occasion, said both the groups would work together for the promotion of the game.
''Groupism has ended after the election results. Now our aim is to work together and promote cricket in the state,'' he added.
