Volvo gifts S80 sedan to honour Bindra

Chandigarh, Aug 23 (UNI) Volvo Car India (VCI), manufacturers of luxury cars, today presented ace shooter Abhinav Bindra with a Volvo S80 for winning the country's first Olympic gold medal at an individual event in Beijing.

''It gives us immense pleasure to present Volvo S80 to Abhinav as he has done the country proud. We are hopeful that Abhinav will get the same pleasure from driving Volvo as he gets from shooting,'' said Volvo Car India Managing Director, Paul de Voijs, while presenting the car.

Expressing his gratitude, Bindra said he felt honoured by the Volvo's gesture and was ''overwhelmed'' by the love and affection showered upon him by everyone after winning the gold medal.

''I hope that we continue to shine brighter at the Olympic and do our country proud,'' Abhinav said.
