Viswanathan Anand regains world number one status
Bilbao, Oct 18: Despite settling for second place at the Bilbao Masters, Indian chess ace Viswanathan Anand has regained the world number one ranking in live rating list.
The World Champion went head-on against Magnus Carlsen of Norway in the finals to play out a draw. Despite finishing second in tournament, Anand managed to dethrone Carlsen from numero uno ranking.
Anand reclaimed the top ranking for the first time since he slipped in Jan 2010.
The Indian ace will next play in another Grand Slam event in China.
