Vikram bows out of world junior squash
Zurich, Jul 30 (UNI) India's Vikram Malhotra put up a good fight before going down to second seed Mohd El Shorbagy of Egypt in the pre-quarterfinal of the junior men's World squash championship.
Vikram squandered several crucial chances before losing 7-9, 7-9, 7-9 yesterday.
The Indian had Shorbagy on the mat in the first game with a 5-0 lead. But Shorbagy staged a brilliant recovery to take the first game.
In the round of 32, Vikram had thrashed Petrucci Camille of France 9-3, 9-7, 9-1.
Another Indian in the fray, Aditya Jagtap lost to Herik Mustonen of Finland 0-9, 0-9, 6-9.
The players will return to action on August 2 for the team championships.
