Raid de Himalayas kicks off

Shimla, Oct. 2, 2007: The mountainous hill resort of Shimla flagged off the ninth Himalayan motor sports rally called 'Raid de Himalaya' today.

The seven-day rally will see over 40 teams testing their driving skills on 11 of the highest motorable passes of the world where the mercury dips to minus 20 degree Celsius. Five woman teams, six teams of the Indian army, one of the Air Force and four foreign teams are participating in the rally.
