Victoria club, Aarohi Builders register identical wins
Lucknow, Apr 10 (UNI) Victoria club, Meerut and Aarohi Builders registered victories by identical margin over Panther Academy and Supreme Cricket Club respectively on the 5th day of the All India R D Bhardwaj Memorial under-25 cricket tournament here today.
Panther Academy began on a solid note but after the fall of opener Gaurav at his individual score of 28, wickets started tumbling at regular intervals to be reduced to 132.
For Victoria, medium pacer Bhuvnesh and right arm spinner Ankit Sharma did the maximum damage by claiming three wickets each at the K D Singh Babu stadium.
In reply, Meerut's Gaurav Goel and Shekhar produced a century stand for the first wicket but both fell when the scoreboard read 101. They finally went on to win by eight wickets in the 25th over in their allotted 40 overs.
In another match at Gomtinagar stadium, the wickets of Supreme Cricket Club fell like a pack of cards with Zia Khursheed (4/22), Rahul (3/13) and Deependra (2/03) being the main wicket takers.
Only Manish Yadav (10) reached the double figure mark in team's total of only 47 runs in 19.5 overs.
Aarohi Builders had no problem in knocking off the paltry score in 9.5 overs.
