UP CM, Gov congratulate Bindra for bagging gold in Olympics

Lucknow, Aug 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar and Chief Minister Mayawati congratulated Abhinav Bindra for winning first individual gold medal for India in the Beijing Olympics today.

In a greeting message, Mr Rajeswar extended his best wishes to Abhinav on behalf of the citizens of Uttar Pradesh and said he was delighted at the worldwide recognition of the player after his victory in the 10 meter individual rifle event.

Whereas, congratulating the shooter on behalf of the people of the state, Ms Mayawati said it was a historic day for the sports in the country.

Besides, former UP CM and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, senior Congress leader Ram Naresh Yadav and BJP president Dr Ramapati Ram Tripathi Abhinav for his win.
