EA & UFC to Launch UFC 5 in 2023: True Feel of MMA Fighting

Electronic Arts Inc, in collaboration with UFC, globally prestigious mixed martial arts (MMA) company, is set to release EA SPORTS UFC 5 on October 27, 2023, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Utilizing the Frostbite Engine for the first time, UFC 5 offers a premier MMA experience replete with authentic gameplay and superior graphics optimised for the latest consoles.

"UFC 5 recreates the rawness of an Octagon fight in the most realistic way possible. This game is unique and unparalleled in its next-generation UFC experience,” UFC President Dana White touted.

The introduction of the Frostbite Engine contributes to EA SPORTS UFC's MMA authenticity, providing high-speed 60 frames-per-second rendering and comprehensive gameplay simulation.

The UFC 5 Deluxe Edition headlined by UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya marks a new epoch of realism and fighter intensity. The Standard Edition features UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and ex-UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko.

UFC 5's introduction of the Real Impact System, coupled with several community-requested improvements, makes it a definitive title-on-title upgrade.

Players can taste the authenticity of a fight with accurate damage progression as the attributes of fighters realistically decline during a match. More than 64,000 possible facial damage combinations add to the impact.

In addition to the realism from the new engine and graphics, UFC 5 also features:

- Cinematic K.O. Replay: Showcasing an end to fights with amplified visuals and boosted excitement.

- Doctor’s Checks and Stoppages: Underlines the need for strategic adaptation to avoid a doctor's stoppage after a severe injury.

- New Strikes and Hit Reactions: Introduces new animations and physics for a detailed fight experience.

- Seamless Submissions: Improved transitions and introduction of Grapple Assist for a smoother, more authentic ground game.

- Fight Week and Alter Egos: With features tied to real-world UFC events and special versions of top fighters, the launch offers unprecedented dynamism.

Developed by EA Vancouver, UFC 5 (rated ESRB M (Mature) and PEGI 16) will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S starting October 27, 2023. The Deluxe Edition will be available for pre-order customers on both platforms from October 24.
