TSDA to set up two Australian style synthetic courts in TN
Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, Jun 25 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority (TSDA) would set up two Australian style synthetic tennis courts here at an estimated cost of Rs 19 lakh in the newly inaugurated district sports building here.
The District Sports Officer (DSO) Pugazhlandi said the tennis court enclosure would comprise two courts, mesh fencing and towering walls on either side, for players to practise. With the construction of walls nearing completion, the flooring work was already underway, he added.
He said though Tiruvannamalai already had a clay court in the RDO office complex, these new courts would be the first of their kind in the district and would help players improve their calibre.
The construction work of the courts was expected to be finished in a couple of months, he added.
