Top paddlers to vie for Le Meridian Players Cup

Pune, May 21 (UNI) Leading paddlers from the district will match their talents in the seasons lung opener 'Le Meridien - Players Cup' district ranking table tennis championship, which gets underway at the Deccan Gymkhana hall here from June 2 to 7.

The seventh edition of the tournament is being sponsored by many former noted paddlers and five star hotel Le Meridien.

Poona District Table Tennis Association (PDTTA) Vice-President Uday Bhalchandra who is also the organising Secretary stated in a release here today that a total cash prize of Rs 20,000 will be at stake in the meet, which will be competed in 13 different age groups.

Besides men and women, the other events will be held for Youths - Boys and Girls (Under-20) Junior Boys and Girls (Under 17) Sub-Junior Boys and Girls (under-14), Cadet Boys and Girls (Under 12) Junior Boys and Girls (Doubles) and the veterans.

The last date of acceptance of entries is May 29.
