Top juniors to participate in Sankalpan summer chess festival

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) Leading junior Chess players from Mumbai and the rest of Maharashtra will feature in the Sankalpan Summer Chess Festival for school children to be held between April 15-20 at the Andheri Sports Complex, here.

Players like Aakash Thakur (Nagpur), Hemant Madhre (Satara), IM Prathmesh Mokal (Pune), Vinod Bhagwat (Nasik) and Shashikant Kutwal, Amardeep Bortakke, Prasad Ghale and IM Rahul Shetty (all from Mumbai) will participate in the chess festival.

The festival will kick off with the nine-round one day Open Rapid tournament on April 15 and will be followed by the five-day boys and girls age-group competition for players under the ages of 12, 10, 8 and 6, from April 16 to 20.

There will be a total of 20 cash prizes.
